• A Scandinavian founded 20.000 MT HOG Atlantic Salmon RAS facility in Gaotang, China.
• The project is divided into 3 phases, 1st. phase 4000 MT, 2nd. 8000 MT and 3rd. 20.000 MT.
• NOAP is the first industrial sized Land Based RAS project to reach it’s full production within the planned time and budget.
• Technology supplier is AkvaGroup, supplying a standard grow out RAS with Zero Water Change (ZWC).

When Ole and David went to NOAP, China in August 2024, it was primary to help mitigate the off-flavor issues during the start of the 1st. phase first harvest and to optimize the de-nitrification process.

We identified several optimizations points to reduce the off-flavor levels in the RAS and purging systems as well as the Nitrate levels in RAS systems.

At the end of our visit, we presented a report with clear instructions for suggested Operational procedures for optimization as well as suggested upgrade of specific technical capacities to improve the mitigation of off-flavor.
